Pre-order boxes for Donkey Kong 3D have begun to appear at retailers.
Despite that fact that no Donkey Kong title has been announced for 3DS, user Scraps69 on the DK Vine forum posted the following image and claimed that "at EB Games, they are advertising 'Donkey Kong 3D' for preorder."

In addition, a listing for Donkey Kong Country 3D has appeared on retailer multiplayer.com along with an image of the game's supposed box art. (Update: Commenters have pointed out that this is based upon the box art for DS game Donkey Kong: Jungle Climber and is simply a mock-up.)

Donkey Kong 3D has not been announced, and it's worth noting that retailers often create their own placeholder images. The presence of a Smash Bros. 3DS box with a 2012 release date in the EB Games photo also makes us skeptical since development on that project hadn't even started as of September.
Nintendo doesn't normally comment on situations like these, but we've reached out and will update this story if they provide any kind of information.
