THQ has trademarked a new game known as 1666.
Little is known about the project, but its patent filing specifically refers to it as "video game software," though no platforms are noted.
The game's title, 1666, is especially interesting in that it marks the year of the Great Fire of London. That disaster destroyed 70,000 homes in 1666 and is known for the great deal of difficulty involved in attempting to put out the flames.

Previously, THQ was hit by rounds of layoffs following theunexpected low returns of uDraw hardware and kids software, making its future uncertain.
The company made it clear that it has titles in the works through 2014, noting that it "is focused on high-quality core games and continues to build our digital platform and business. We are excited for our pipeline of original and high-quality content along with our relationships with some of the best talent in the industry."
We've reached out to THQ and will update with any information we receive.
