Kinect for Windows SDK 1.0 Now Available

SDK supports up to four Kinect cameras and new "Near Mode."

Just as Steve Ballmer promised at last month's CES, the 1.0 build of the Kinect for Windows SDK is available starting today.
The SDK provides support for up to four Kinect cameras to a single computer, the ability to clearly view objects as close as 40 cm via Near Mode, enhanced speech recognition capabilities with "far-talk," and a number of additional improvements that can be seen at the Kinect for Windows Blog.
Improved Kinect for Windows hardware will start shipping today for $249 as well, enabling users to utilize features found in the new SDK. Special academic pricing will be established later this year at a cost of $149 for Qualified Educational Users.
The Kinect for Windows SDK v1.0 can be downloaded here.
